Healthy Eating & the Bowen Technique

Loading

Healthy eating is key to emotional and physical well being and vitality. Don`t take it from us...try it out & experiment. How do you feel after a few days of junk food? How do you sleep? How`s your libido? How`s your energy level? Try a few days of following the healthy eating guide . Now how do you feel? "I couldn`t have raised my baby girl, worked and kept emotional balance without healthy eating habits." says Angela. "Whenever I did eat that extra bit of chocolate or had fried food, I immediately felt it was too difficult. I was exhausted and depressed. As soon as I re-focused on healthy eating, I bounced back and was energized and engaged with my daughter and focused at work."

Healthy Eating is key...but so is caring for your body and getting proper treatment to resolve health issues.

Bowen Technique & Womens Health Issues

The Bowen Technique is a remedial therapy which has been practiced since it`s development in the 1950`s by Australian, Tom Bowen, an industrial engineer. Now, widely used in U.K hospitals, it is a recognized treatment for a range of conditions.Bowen Technique consists of a series of gentle moves over specific areas of muscles, tendons and other soft tissues. The location of these soft tissue moves stimulates the body to remove physical and/or emotional blockages, which can impede proper blood and nerve flow and lymphatic drainage, naturally. Because of it`s natural, non-invasive techniques, Bowen is suitable for all ages; from a baby to an elderly person. Bowen can be of assistance in times of pain as well as emotional stress. It can also be of great benefit in improving the quality of life for those with a terminal illness.

Womens Health Issues

Menopause
“Bowen can help the body adjust to the changing hormonal levels before, during and after menopause and provides lymphatic drainage, assisting in the removal of toxins”, says Michele, Director of Michele`s Massage & Bowen Therapy in Ferntree Gully, Australia.

Infertility Bowen can be used to treat infertility by inducing deep muscular relaxation – mental and emotional stress can cause muscles to tighten and restrict the natural blood flow, lymphatic drainage and nerve supply of the body, all of which can affect fertility. Bowen aids the natural flow of body processes necessary for ovulation, conception and a healthy pregnancy.

Pregnancy
Bowen can play an important part in the healthcare of women during pregnancy. The spine and pelvic area are especially vulnerable for an expectant mother. Bowen treatments can help maintain optimal functioning of the body and keep the woman`s musculoskeletal system flexible and balanced – thereby alleviating pain and discomfort.

Bowen for Pain Relief
By gently moving over specific areas of the body, the following conditions can be relieved:

  • Muscular and skeletal problems in neck, shoulder, hip, knees, ankle and back, including sciatica
  • Frozen shoulder, tennis and golf elbow, R.S.I. and carpal tunnel
  • Whiplash and sports injuries
  • Problems with posture and body alignment
  • Migraine and recurring headaches
  • Bell's Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease and the difficulties suffered by stroke victims
  • Respiratory, bronchial and related conditions such as hay fever and asthma
  • Digestive problems such as IBS
  • Arthritis
  • Stress management, ME, fatigue and sleep problems.

After Treatment Care
Before and after a bowen technique treatment, it`s important to drink plenty of water and do light stretches. “Toxins get released during the treatment. It`s important to flush those out and keep the body`s processes flowing.” says Michele.
